What is Start Now?
Start Now is a simple productivity app designed to help you overcome procrastination by making it easier to begin. Instead of asking you to commit to a long work session, Start Now helps you take the first step and build momentum from there.
How does the timer work?
Choose a task and start your session. The timer runs continuously in 5-minute intervals, helping you focus without the pressure of committing to hours of work. Every 5-minute milestone is tracked, and your session continues until you decide to end it.
Does the timer stop after 5 minutes?
No. Unlike traditional countdown timers, Start Now does not stop every 5 minutes. Your session continues seamlessly in 5-minute blocks until you choose to stop the timer.
Why use 5-minute intervals?
Starting is often the hardest part of any task. Breaking your work into 5-minute milestones makes getting started feel more manageable while allowing you to stay focused for as long as you’d like.
Why doesn’t Start Now use a Pomodoro timer?
Start Now isn’t about working until a timer tells you to stop—it’s about helping you start. Unlike traditional Pomodoro timers that interrupt your workflow at set intervals, Start Now lets you stay in your flow while quietly tracking your progress in 5-minute milestones.
Can I track different tasks?
Yes. You can create and organize multiple tasks, making it easy to see exactly where your time is being spent.
Will my sessions be saved?
Yes. Every completed session is automatically saved so you can review your history and track your progress over time.
Can I edit or delete sessions?
Yes. You can manage your session history directly within the app.
What statistics can I see?
Start Now tracks your focus time so you can view your progress through daily, weekly, and all-time statistics.
What is Start Now Pro?
Start Now Pro is the premium version of the app. It unlocks additional features, including unlimited tasks and future premium features as they’re released.
How do I upgrade to Start Now Pro?
You can upgrade anytime through Apple’s secure in-app purchase system directly within the app.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. To manage your subscription: 1. Open Settings on your iPhone. 2. Tap your Apple ID. 3. Tap Subscriptions. 4. Select Start Now Pro. 5. Change or cancel your subscription at any time.
I purchased Start Now Pro, but my premium features are still locked.
Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID used to purchase the subscription, restore your purchases from within the app if available, and close and reopen the app. If you’re still having trouble, email us with your device model, iOS version, a description of the issue, and screenshots if possible.
The timer isn’t working correctly.
First, make sure you’re using the latest version of Start Now. If the issue continues, please email us with your device model, iOS version, a description of what happened, and screenshots or a screen recording if available.
I found a bug.

Does Start Now require an internet connection?
Most core features work without an internet connection. Some features, such as purchases or future cloud-based services, may require an internet connection.
